Basic Information On Sexually Transmitted Diseases

This article examines some general information about sexually transmitted disease (STD). If you are interested in finding out what is sexually transmitted disease and how can you get affected by it, then keep reading.

What Are Sexually Transmitted Diseases?

Just like name suggests, sexually transmitted diseases (also reffered to as sexually transmitted infection (STI) and veneral disease (VD)) are diseases that transmit from one person (or animal) to another through sexual intercourse.

In other words, if you have sex (either vaginal, oral or anal) with a woman who is infected by any kind of sexually transmitted disease, chances are you will also get infected by that STD.

In addition, such illnesses can also be transmitted by using the same intravenous drug needle that was previously used by someone who has sexually transmitted infection. Two more possible causes for getting infected with this disease are through breastfeeding or childbirth.

The strange thing about these types of diseases is the fact that even though someone is infected by STD and can infect others, this does not necessarily mean that this person will actually suffer from symptoms of the disease (or show signs of it).

If you are wondering how is that possible, here is an explanation:

Difference Betwen Sexually Transmitted Infection And Sexually Transmitted Disease

Basically, we have to differentiate between having a sexually transmitted disease and having sexually transmitted infection.

In case of infection, the person has either germ (virus), bacteria or parasite in the body that can potentially cause the ST disease. Being infected therefore does not necessarily mean that your body will suffer from the effects of disease or show signs (symptoms) of it.

On the other hand, if the person is diagnosed as having STD, then this means that disease has progressed from only being in the body to hurting it. In such cases, the affected person is showing all the signs (symptoms) of the disease and feels sick too.

As mentioned, it does not matter whether you only have infection or disease, in case you have sexual intercourse with other person, chances are that person will also develop either infection or a disease.

Most Common Types Of Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Now that we have some basic understanding of what sexually transmitted diseases are, lets now mention some of most common types of STD.

Generally speaking, sexually transmitted disease can come in either bacterial, fungal, viral or parasite form.

Among the bacterial types of STD, you will find conditions such as Chancroid, Chlamydia, Granuloma inguinale, Gonnorhea and Syphilis.

Among fungal types of STD, Tinea cruris and Candidiatis (also known as male penile trush) can be found.

Regarding viral types of sexually transmitted diseases, the most common ones are Viral hepatitis (B virus), Herpes simplex, HIV or AIDS, Human Papilloma Virus and Molluscum contagiosum.

Among the parasites that cause STD, two of the most common conditions are Crab louse and Scabies.

This is all about sexually transmitted diseases for now. I will be writing about this subject in future blogs as well, so do not forget to subscribe!

What Is Micro Penis Syndrome?

This article discusses a condition known as micro penis syndrome. If you want to find out more information about what is micro penis, what causes it and how does it affect you and your sexual life, then reading this article will certainly help you out.

What Penis Size Is Considered To Be A Micro Penis?

To begin with, micro penis means to have a very small or short penis length and girth, both in flacid and erect condition. Apart from small penile size, penis is configured completely normal.

To give you an example of the length we are talking about here: If you are an adult male and have a penis length of up to 2 inches (5 centimeters) long during erection, this can almost certainly be considered as having a micro penis.

In a similar matter, if a newborn male infant (that is not older than one (1) month) has a stretched penis length of less than 0.8 inches (2 cm) then this can be considered as micro penis syndrome as well.

The size of the penis is therefore the main factor in determining whether someone has micro penis or not.

It is believed that every six (6) out of thousand (1000) men are affected with micro penis. In other words, the occurance rate in the male population is 0,6 %.

What Causes Micro Penis?

Generally speaking, micro or small penis forms itself because male sexual organ (penis) does not develop itself properly during penile growth phases (penis formation phase (happens early in the fetal life) and penis growth phase (happens from birth to the end of the puberty)).

There are different reasons (causes) why someone’s penis does not grow properly during the above mentioned growth phases.

Most of them are associated with other health disorders such as congenital growth hormone deficiency, congenital hypopituitarism and a variety of genetic syndromes (Klinefelter syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, Bardet-Biedl syndrome,…).

In general, the most common reasons or causes for a micro penis happen:

  • due to decreased production of testosteron and androgen hormone in penile growth phases (that I mentioned above);
  • due to abnormal hypothalamic or pituitary function which leads to hypogonadotropic hypogonadism;
  • due to primary testicular disorder which also leads to hypergonadotropic hypogonadism.

You will find most of these reasons or causes for micro penis form itself in the time when the male child is not even born yet.

How does micro penis affect your life?

Having a very small penis can have some consequences on your life. Perhaps one of the biggest problems of micro penis is because it makes sexual intercourse difficult.

Of course, if you are a priest who does not practice sex due to your religious beliefs, then having a small penis is not really a problem, is it?

But what about the rest of us who enjoy having sex on regular basis? Can you imagine how such situation could ruin your sexual life?

For instance, how would you feel if one day your wife said to you that your penis is too small to satisfy her? Or how would you feel if your girlfriend told you that she does not feel your penis in her vagina right after you to had your first sex ever?

Obviously, it would be very unpleasant to experience such things for sure! Something like that can potentially even make you fall into depression no matter how tough you feel right now!

To conclude, micro penis syndrome (very small penis) is a condition that can have big effects on your sexual life as well as on your self esteem. But like with other problems in our lives, if you can not change them, perhaps the best thing is to just accept them and learn to live with them.

Male Sexual Problems: Premature Ejaculation

Premature ejaculation is one of the most common male sexual problems

When discussing male sexual problems or dysfunctions, we can not go past premature ejaculation. Many men of all ages are having problems in their (sexual) life because they ejaculate too fast during sexual intercourse.

To find out more about this specific male sexual problem, I invite you to keep reading this article. The article will provide you with some basic information about premature ejaculation, like how many men are suffering from this condition and why it is such a big problem for men.

To start by saying that premature ejaculating affects even more men than another quite common male problem: impotence or erectile dysfuncion!

Premature ejaculation commonly affects men of all ages!

That means that lots of men are suffering from this unpleasant (and for some even embarassing) problem, but not all men are willing to discuss the situation and then find a solution or treatment for it.

According to some medical studies in every group of 100 men worldwide, you will find 30 men that either ejaculate prematurely or have a very poor control over their ejaculation. That are some big numbers if you ask me!

What worries me even further is the fact that you this problem can affect you (or me) anytime. You can have a perfect ejaculation control, but then one day you realize how you dont have control over your ejaculation anymore.

Why is premature ejaculation such a problem?

The main reason why premature ejaculation represents such a big problem for a man is because this condition can seriously affect his quality of life.

Not only that you and your sexual partner can not enjoy the sexual intercourse as much and as long as you could when you ejaculate prematurely, but it also affects your mental well-being and your self-confidence!

Feelings of embarassement, imperfection and unsatisfaction with sexual intercourse and love relationships in general are just some of the things men with rapid ejaculation have to deal with on a daily basis.

As said, premature ejaculation can serious impact the quality of your life. It is therefore very important to not only talk about such issues, but to start solving them as well!

If you are currently suffering from premature ejaculation and dont know how to address these problems, then read my following posts to find out what can be done to treat premature ejaculation.

What is Male Penile Thrush?

Find out what male penile thrush is and how it affects your penis!

If you want to find out what male thrush or penile thrush is, take some time to read what is written below. You will get familiar with basic information about this penis problem such as what exactly is male penile trush and how does it affect your penile organ.

To start with, penile (or male thrush) is basically a yeast infection of the penis. Besides feelings of pain in the affected penis, other signs of this infection can be noticed on the male reproduction organ.

Male penile thrush is candida yeast infection

Before describing in more details how thrush affects your penis, there are couple of more general things you should about penile thrush or male yeast infection.

First off, Candida Albicans yeast (or yeast fungus) is present in every male and female body. Having yeast is completely natural and is not a problem. At least until the yeast in your body is kept in balance with other bacteria that prevent it from spreading.

When yeast in your penis is off balance (meaning there is more yeast fungus present than it should be), it starts growing and becomes more aggresive. When this happens in your penis, you develop male penile thrush (or yeast infection if you prefer that word).

How does penile thrush affect male penis?

In most cases men will not be aware they have a thrush or yeast infection until they start experience different problems and changes in their penis. As mentioned above, when it comes to penile thrush the main problem is sore and painful penis.

Besides having a sore and painful reproduction organ, there are a couple of more ways that thrush can affect you. Men with Candida infection often times also:

  • notice red spots in the head of the their penile organ,
  • have an itchy penis,
  • feel burning sensation in penis,
  • have lots of white »dirt« under the penis foreskin and
  • notice strange smell in the penis.

These are just some general ways that candida (or yeast) infection can affect your penis. If you suspect you have a male thrush, do not worry. This infection can be treated easily.

Male penile thrush CAN be treated!

What you should do at this point is go see your doctor and talk with him about it. He will provide you with a proper treatment that will remove the effects of male penile thrush from your penis.

Natural or home remedies for penile or male thrush can also be used. More about this treatment in my next blog posts.

How To Prevent Prostate Enlargement

Wondering how to prevent prostate enlargement? Read health tips for preventing enlarged prostate then!

In previous blog posts we have been getting familiar with some of the most common male prostate problems like prostate enlargement, prostatitis and prostate cancer. This time I am going to talk about how to prevent prostate enlargement early in your life.

Are you already in your senior years and have problems because of enlarged prostate? If so, this information will not be as useful to you as it would be 30 years ago.

Nonetheless, you can still take advantage of the prostate health tips below just to prevent your prostate from further growth.

The prostate tips that I am about to share with you have even helped some men with shrinking enlarged prostate, even though they are not regarded as medicine at all. With that said, here is the first prostate health tip every man should follow:

Regular sexual activity helps prevent prostate enlargement

That is right, you have read this correctly. Regular sexual activity (be it intercourse or masturbation) will help in preventing your prostate to enlarge itself and cause problems and suffering!

But being sexually active is not enough. You actually have to have regular orgasms if you want this to work since prostate is doing its job during your orgasms.

What means having »regular sexual activity«? Well, some doctors say 2 to 3 orgasms per week will be enough to keep your prostate healthy, but if you do it once (or even twice) a day, that will bring you even better results in the long run.

Just remember, consistency is the key here! Now lets move on to the second tip:

Get regular prostate checks to prevent prostate enlargement

Make sure to get regular appointments with your doctor to check how big your prostate is and how it is growing with time.

This is especially advisable for men who have (had) fathers, brothers or grandfathers suffering from enlarged prostate and for all men who are 40 years old or more.

By doing this, you will keep control of your prostate size and you will spot potential problems before they actually cause suffering to you. If you have not had your prostate checked for a long time now, I advise you to do that as soon as possible.

Eating healthy food prevents prostate enlargement

If you remember my previous post about different ways to shrink enlarged prostate, you know that eating certain types of food can reduce the size of enlarged prostate. The same food can be used for preventing prostate enlargement.

Foods like cranberry juice, lycopene tomatoes and saw palmetto for instance, are great way to prevent your prostate from getting bigger. That is why you should include as many of these ingredients in your diet.

On the contrary, avoid eating unhealthy foods like fast, fat rich and junk food as it can also affects the growth of your prostate.

As you see, the most important factors in preventing prostate enlargement are regular sexual activity, eating healthy food and having regular checks at the doctor.

If you stick to only the three things mentioned above on regular basis, the chances of you suffering from enlarged prostate will decrease significantly!

By serious problems I mean difficulties like not being able to urinate, urinary tract infections and when there are stones in the blatter. Why should surgeries be used only with serious problems?

Causes Of Enlarged Prostate

What are the causes of enlarged prostate? Get informed about the prostate enlargement causes!

If you are looking for information about the causes of enlarged prostate, make sure to read this article! Among the things you will discover is what causes prostate enlargement and which age groups of men are most likely to develop enlarged prostate.

To begin by saying that men who are most likely to develop an enlarged prostate (and further on have difficulties because of prostate enlargement) are senior men.

Prostate hits its growth peak when men turn seniors

In other words, the older you are the bigger the chances to have problems because of the size of your prostate. Some data shows that around 90 % of men that have 80 years or more are affected with this problem.

That means that age is almost certainly one of the main causes for having an enlarged prostate. This can be explained with the way prostate evolves as the years go by (meaning as your grow older):

Scientists and doctors have figured out that prostate grows throughout our whole life. If you would compare your current prostate size with the prostate size at the time you were born, you would find out how much it has grown already.

According to some estimates, prostate enlarges itself for about 20 times the birth size. By the time we turn 50 years old, it becomes big enough to start pressing on the urethra and making urination difficult.

Senior men experience testosterone hormone changes

Another factor that is believed to influence the prostate enlargement men are hormone changes that men experience in their body by the time they become seniors.

Basically what happens is that as we grow older and become seniors, the Testosterone level in our male body gets lower. At the same time, it also changes itself in a different form known as »dihidrotestosterone« or DHT.

What DHT does is it makes cells in the prostate to multiply itself numerous times, which causes your prostate to enlarge itself as well.

But Testosterone level is not the only hormone change that happens in the senior male body. While Testosterone lower itself, other (more feminine) hormones like Prolactin, Estrogen, Luteinizing hormone and FHS hormone actually gets increased.

This is also the reason why senior men are also more likely to experience other body changes like gained weight and the decrease in the strength of the muscles.

To sum it up, there are many causes of enlarged prostate. While doctors and scientists believe the main two causes for prostate enlargement are age and hormone changes in senior males, there are also other causes for this condition and many of them are still unknown.

Discover Some Common Male Prostate Problems

What you will discover in the article below are some of the common (or frequent) problems related to human male organ called Prostate.

To begin with some general information about this male organ, a prostate is part of man’s reproduction system (or sexual organ). It is responsible for the production of the fluid that transports the male sperm through uretha during ejaculation.

As with all human body organs, male prostate can become unhealthy too. If you are a man, then it is a good idea to know something about prostate problems, how to solve them and how to keep your prostate healthy.

Basically, there are many different prostate problems that we as men can suffer from. At this point, I want to expose three of them:

  • Prostatitis,
  • Prostate enlargement,
  • and Prostate Cancer.

Prostatitis is common male prostate problem

Prostatitis is a very common male health condition that is most common in young and middle aged men. This usually happens because the tissue in the prostate gets irritated or inflammed in a certain way.

One possible end result of having prostatitis is a burning feeling that men feel while urinating. But besides painful urination, this disease also causes other difficulties, which makes it very hard to diagnose.

Things like fever and tiredness could also have something to do with prostatitis.

Prostate enlargement is another male prostate problem

Prostate enlargement (also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia) is another common prostate problem that men suffer from.

While Prostatitis usually affects younger and middle aged men, prostate enlargement develops mostly in senior aged men. This is because prostate does not stop growing with time and by the time you become senior, this organ is pretty big.

The big or enlarged prostate is problematic because it squeezes the uretha. Since uretha is transfering your urine out of the body, this causes difficulties with urine transfer. As a result, men with enlarged prostate lose control over urination or have a very hard time doing it.

Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer or cancer of prostate represents a treat for all men. What happens in such situations is that prostate starts producing cancerous cells, which (if not prevented) spread into the other body organs too.

Having a prostate cancer means problems like urination difficulties, feelings of pain, difficult sexual intercourse and even penis erection impotence problems.

As obvious from the male prostate problems described above, keeping prostate healthy as much as possible is a must for every man!

There are many ways to protect your prostate from becoming sick. I will share some of the methods with you in my next blog posts.

Different Types of Penis Erection Impotence Problems

This blog post discusses different types of impotence problems that (some) men experience or have to deal with in their lives.

While all kinds of impotence problems are very hard or difficult to live with, there is a different between a young men who cant ejaculate (but can have erection) and a senior men who suffers from so called Erectyle disfunction and can keep his penis erect only for a short period time.

Therefore, we use word »impotence« to describe different situations. But nonetheless, all the difficulties or problems (that people refer to with term impotence) are in one way or another connected with penis erection.

Before taking a look at different impotence problems men experience, let me say a word or two about why is inability to have or sustain penis erection a problem in the first place.

Why is impotence such a big problem for men?

Impotence is a problem because it means you (or any other man that is »impotent«) can’t have a normal sexual intercourse. This can ofcourse further on affect your love relationships and your entire life as well.

Naturally, being able to be sexually active and having regular and unproblematic sex or intercourse is for a man not only a joy but a need indeed! It is therefore completely understandable how having problems with your penis can make your life a total disaster.

Whatever the situation or problem is (be it impotence or something else), it is important for you to not panic. Instead, visit a couple of doctors, do some reasearch on yourself and figure out what (if anything) can be done to solve the penis difficulties you are experiencing right now.

With that said, lets now see what are some of the impotence problems that men have to deal with.

What kinds of penis erection problems affect men?

1. Erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is the most common impotence problem. There are millions of men all over the world suffering from it. The degree to which ED (short for erectile dysfunction) is present in the penis varies from male to male.

Some men cant have any erection at all, some can achieve it but only at certain ocassions. There is one group of men who is under most risk to become impotent at this group consists of senior men.

2. The lack of desire to have sex

In case you lack the desire to have sexual intercourse (or to be sexually active), this is also sometimes reffered to as impotence.

It makes sense if you think about it. The lack of desire for sex means you will have a hard time producing an erect penis. I am sure you know this already, but nonetheless, a man must get turned on (or become sexually aroused) in order to produce a penis erection.

3. Peyronie’s disease

Peyronie’s disease is another condition that can potentially affect your penis and is sometimes responsible for having problems with penile potency.

The degree to Peyronie’s disease affects penile erection is different from patient to patient. Some men with Peyronie’s feel as their erection is not as strong and as sustainable as it used to be, but there are others whose erection condition is even more severe.

There are other types of penis erection problems that affect men as I have only mentioned a few of them here. If you have something to add or are interest in knowing, use the comments below.
